Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

The short version

BorderNest does not run user accounts or email lists, and our own metrics are anonymous content counts (views and affiliate clicks). On production we load a Pinterest Tag for marketing measurement; that tag is governed by Pinterest’s privacy policy, and we do not send emails or hashed emails to Pinterest.

What we collect

When you browse bordernest.com, we record anonymous, aggregate-oriented events consisting only of:

  • Event type — e.g. a page view, a deal-card impression, or an outbound click.
  • Content identifiers — which article slug, deal, topic (home or travel), and on-page placement the event relates to.
  • Timestamp — when the event happened.
  • Referrer domain — only the website domain you arrived from (e.g. pinterest.com), never the full address.

What we do not collect

  • No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses from browsing.
  • No Pinterest enhanced match / hashed email matching.
  • No IP addresses stored in our own first-party metrics.
  • A session cookie is set only for site staff who sign in to our admin area.
  • No data sold or shared with data brokers.

Why we collect metrics

These anonymous counts tell us which guides and deals are useful so we can write better content. They are not designed to identify you.

Affiliate links

BorderNest participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click a product link, you leave our site and go to Amazon. From that point, Amazon's own privacy policy applies. Amazon may use cookies to attribute purchases to our affiliate account; that happens on Amazon's site, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure.

Third-party services

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and a small interface library (HTMX) from a public CDN. These providers receive standard web requests needed to deliver those files and are governed by their own privacy policies.

We also load the Pinterest Tag on the production site so we can measure the effectiveness of our Pinterest traffic and ads. Page views and Amazon outbound product clicks (as Pinterest “lead” events) may be reported to Pinterest. That tag is operated by Pinterest and may use cookies or similar technologies according to Pinterest’s privacy policy. We do not send your email address (or a hash of it) to Pinterest.

Email

If you email us at contact@bordernest.com, we will only use your address to reply. We do not add you to any list, and we do not share your address.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly hold any data about anyone, including children.

Data retention

Anonymous metric events are kept only as long as they are useful for understanding content performance, and may be deleted or aggregated at any time.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example, if we ever add a newsletter — we will update this page and its "last updated" date before those changes take effect.
